With an in-screen fingerprint scanner and near edge-to-edge display, Galaxy S10’s screen is precious. Keep it that way with one of these protectors
The Galaxy S10 may be a couple of generations old, now that Samsung has released the Galaxy S21, but it remains an excellent phone.
The device comes with a gorgeous 6.1in Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED display, while the S10 Plus (reviewed here) comes with a larger 6.3in screen. Both feature 93% screen-to-body ratio which means it’s a lot of glass to protect.
The S10 and S10 Plus were the first phones to introduce an ultrasonic, in-display fingerprint scanner to the mass market.
While it’s an innovative feat, it does creates a problem where screen protectors are concerned. Many third-party options come with a small cutout, to ensure it can scan your finger properly. However, a growing number are able to detect the waves through the protective materials – and we’re looking at them here.
Keep in mind, the issue doesn’t affect the S10e, which has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner built into the power button.
