Or 5nm process? It is rumored that the A16 chip of the iPhone 14 will use the N4P process

Not long ago, some analysts pointed out that because TSMC’s 3nm chip may be delayed in production, Apple’s A16 chip will still use the 5nm process.

News on November 9th, the A16 chip on the iPhone 14 series is expected to use TSMC’s N4P process and is still based on the 5nm process. You should know that both A15 and A14 are based on 5nm process. If A16 chip is also based on 5nm process, performance may not be greatly improved.
According to previous news, on Geekbench, the iPhone 13 series single-core running score is stable at 1.7K+, and the multi-core is up to 4.8K. The iPhone 13 Pro has a running score of 14,216. On AnTuTu, the total running score of the top version of the iPhone 13 Pro is 839675 points, the CPU score is 214698 points, and the GPU score is 324552 points. The performance is about 15% higher than that of the iPhone 12 Pro.
Generally speaking, the improvement of craftsmanship often greatly improves the performance of the chip. Of course, compared with hardware improvements, users care more about software optimization, because this will directly affect the user experience. And it is too early to draw conclusions, perhaps TSMC can solve the problem of production capacity in advance, and it is not known that the 3nm process will be mass-produced as scheduled.
