iPadOS 16 is arriving in a couple of months and brings a whole host of new features: improved multi-tasking, new collaboration tools, and most important of all, the very first built-in weather app for iPad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When will iPadOS 16 be released?
\nApple has confirmed that iPadOS 16 will launch in \u201cfall\u201d (or autumn, if you\u2019re in the UK), but this is no surprise as it releases a new version every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
iPadOS 15 was released in September 2021, so most would assume iPadOS 16 will roll out this September alongside iOS 16, which we expect to be released at the same time as the iPhone 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, a recent report from Bloomberg suggests that, for the first time, the release of iPadOS 16 could be pushed to October. The news comes from Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman citing \u201cpeople with knowledge of the matter,\u201d who suggest the delay is down to several reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Per Gurman, the big reason behind the delay is that an October release would line up better with the rumoured release of the new iPad Pro and entry-level iPad, though there are other benefits to an October release. It gives Apple a little bit longer to test out issues with Stage Manager, the new iPad multitasking interface that\u2019s particularly buggy in current beta builds, and it\u2019ll also free up resources in the short term to work on iOS 16 ahead of release next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
