The Asus TUF Gaming A15 has been around for several years, but Asus has never been complacent with its most affordable gaming notebook \u2013 the firm has kept refining the design and beefing up the internals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This 2022 model has received faster components and more ambitious display options inside a case that\u2019s lighter than the older machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That bodes well when the rig we\u2019ve reviewed (the FA507RM) costs \u00a31,499 in the UK and has a US RRP of $1,499, and the current entry-level version (FA507RE) starts at a tempting \u00a31,199 or $1,049. We\u2019re hoping for some cheaper SKUs to arrive soon as the Asus site lists an RTX 3050 as an option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There\u2019s plenty of competition at this end of the market, though, so we\u2019ve got to find out if 2022\u2019s Asus TUF Gaming A15 can stand up against rivals like the Acer Nitro 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bold, military-inspired design
Mediocre build quality but a reasonably lightweight
Fine mainstream connectivity but no surprises or futuristic features
The Asus TUF range isn\u2019t usually shy about its military-inspired design, and that remains true: the Asus TUF Gaming A15\u2019s moulded lid looks like it\u2019s secured with rivets, and you\u2019ll find edges with utilitarian air vents alongside numerous TUF logos. The military design is perhaps immature, but the Asus doesn\u2019t look awful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
